People ask for dumb crap all the time. One of my favorites is black coffee with cream. Another is any alcoholic drink straight up on the rocks.

This reminds me of Mama, who once offered me "black" coffee that had sugar in it. Apparently, black coffee means without cream, because there is no such thing as coffee without sugar. Or the Alabama truck stop waitress who advised my grandfather once: "You kin have it without toast, but you cain't have it without grits!" L.M.
